“Sankofa derives from the Akan African folklore, symbolizing the remembrance of things forgotten, and in order to know our future we must look to our past”

The installation blends elements of a futuristic aesthetic connection to ancestral roots, including African, Afro-Caribbean, and Indigenous craft traditions. It draws inspiration from the everyday histories and the vibrant contemporary life of Marcus Garvey Park.
